The Consistency of Change

Since September 1st, the Garden Experiment has been a great success.  Unhealthy air quality from fires gave way to a bumpy start but once the air cleared being outside has been really fun.  Birdsong has overshadowed the occasional firetruck siren by far.  While San Francisco gave the green light for indoor massage in mid September, I opted to stay outside while our warm weather lasted.  And now, it’s time.

I’ll be moving back inside starting November 1st.  The new office is at Raise the Bar Fitness on the corner of Taraval and 27th Avenue.  Some things you should know:

  • My schedule has changed to limit the number of clients I see per day and provide ample time between clients for the new sanitizing protocol.
  • There is no waiting area inside the gym.  I will greet you at the front door to let you in a few minutes before your appointment time.
  • Clients will be required to fill out an online COVID-19 wellness form before each appointment.
  • I will conduct a temperature check before each session and post my own temperature.
  • Masks are required.

Both the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals and SF’s Department of Public Health have put forth best practices to keep us safe.  If you’re curious to know about these safety protocols, I will add a new tab with links to these resources. As soon as I figure out how to do so.

What an unbelievable year.  The chain of events have helped me to recognize how incredibly adaptive we can be, how resilient we are and how we are able to come together to support each other, initiate change and create new systems to strengthen our community. More than ever, I’m so grateful to live in the Sunset and serve my neighbors.  I’ve missed many of you and I look forward to seeing you soon.  In the meantime, keep wearing your masks, washing your hands and practicing social distance!
