The Feel Good Effect

As I was on my run this morning, I felt a surge of joy overtake me.  The fog in my neighborhood was starting to lift and the air felt cool and fresh, a perfect blend of damp wood chips from the trail and ocean.  It’s the endorphins, I thought.  It’s the endorphins and my playlist and my realization that I get to do this for myself in some form everyday.  Lucky me.  I noticed the rest of us, out there either working to maintain the park or walking or running or even waking (lots of people live in this park too) and this part of me inside wanted to break out into dance with all of them flashmob style.  I keep running and smiling at those whose eyes I meet.  A lovely start to my day; a stage setter.

So as soon as I got back, I went online to find out what is it that makes this feel so good.  Yes, yes .. I know the endorphin thing but what is that?  Well, thanks inter webs..
